PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain saw capable of sufficiently reducing a temperature of exhaust gas at timing of discharging the exhaust gas to outside of a housing.SOLUTION: A chain saw having a muffler 30 provided on a front side of a cylinder 21 of an upright engine is configured such that a stepped part formed from a horizontal surface 34 and a vertical surface 35 is provided in the muffler, and an exhaust gas outlet 37 is provided near a left end portion of the vertical surface. Exhaust gas EX flows along the vertical surface 35 formed aslant in such a manner that a right side retreats (at a retreat angle θ) in a front view. On the other hand, cooling air CA generated by a cooling fan 18 and passing through radiation fins is caused to flow from rearward to forward along a right wall surface of the muffler to collide against the exhaust gas EX. With this configuration, it is possible to sufficiently reduce a temperature of the exhaust gas at timing of discharging the exhaust gas to a right side of the chain saw.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
