In display racks or in other connections it can be desirable to be able to change the height position of an upper telescopic tube (4) relative to a fixed base tube (2). With the invention this is obtained in a particularly simple manner by arranging on the upper, obliquely cut end of the lower tube (2) a ring member (10), which surrounds the upper tube (4) and at its lower end is provided with an inwardly projecting pin (18) cooperating with holes (6) in the rear side of the upper tube in such a manner that the latter is freely raisable to a raised position, in which it can be held by being lowered slightly, such that the pin (18) is brought into engagement with a selected carrier hole (6), while a lowering of the upper tube can be effected by an initial lifting of the inner tube (4) and a manual holding of the ring member (10) in its released position, whereafter the inner tube (4) is lowered to a new position, in which the pin (18), when released, is allowed to engage another selected hole (6) in the rear side of the upper tube (4). |
