<p>The method is used for forwarding and/or processing and/or storing signals which include user authorization information which determines the permitted use of the signal content. This information includes a special instruction which cannot be encoded ad which signalizes that the end user should have free access to the audio and image data. The authorization information remains attached even when transmitted physically separate from the data. The special instruction triggers decoding of the data. Independent claims also cover apparatus for carrying out the method.</p>
