PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fertilizer capable of simply and surely neutralizing acidic soil having reached a prescribed hydrogen ion index, capable of promoting the activation and breeding of microorganisms, and further capable of realizing the good growths of plants. SOLUTION: This fertilizer sensitive to the acidification of soil is obtained by mixing a fertilizer component with a soil-neutralizing component, granulating the mixture to form aggregate-like cores 2 each having a diameter of about 3-4 mm, forming an intermediate layer 3 comprising nutritive ingredients for microorganisms on the surface of each formed aggregate-like core 2 in a layer thickness of about 55μm, and then covering the surface of each intermediate layer 3 with a soil acidity-sensitive layer 4 in a film layer thickness of about 10μm. When the hydrogen ion index of soil reaches pH 5, the soil acidity- sensitive layer 4 senses the pH 5, and the soil acidity-sensitive layer 4 is collapsed to expose the intermediate layer 3, thereby activating microorganisms in the soil. The fertilizer component and the soil-neutralizing component of the aggregate-like core is subsequently eluted.
