PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ladder apparatus which has its ladder divided into an upper stage ladder and a lower stage ladder, facilitates housing and taking-out of the ladder, and can minimize its opening formed at a ceiling. SOLUTION: An upper stage ladder 20 is connected to a lower stage ladder 21 by a link 40, whereby the lower stage ladder 21 can be rotated on a rotational center of the link 40 without changing the position of the lower stage ladder 21. Further, the length of the link 40 is set to a value in the range from 1/4 the length of the lower stage ladder 21 to 3/4 the length of the same, and most part of the lower stage ladder 21 is superposed on the upper stage ladder 20 when folded.
