PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retarding polyolefin adhesive tape free from generation of toxic gas such as hydrogen halide in combustion and having improved flame-retardancy by applying an aqueous adhesive to a film base composed of an olefin resin containing a metal hydroxide, SOLUTION: (A) A film base composed of an olefin resin [e.g. ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer(EEA) or ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer(EVA)] containing a metal hydroxide such as magnesium hydroxide, aluminum hydroxide or calcium hydroxide is coated with (B) an aqueous adhesive. The component B is preferably produced e.g. by compounding 100 pts.wt. of a natural rubber latex and/or styrene-butadiene rubber latex with 100 pts.wt. of a tackifier emulsion, 30 pts.wt. of a softening agent and 3 pts.wt. of an antioxidant emulsion.
