PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a movable body at a variable speed in very simple constitution by placing the movable body on a roller, disposing a rail contacting the outer periphery of the roller, and moving the guiding roller at a variable speed. SOLUTION: A transfer chain 10 is wrapped round driving and driven sprockets endlessly and always moved at a constant speed. Rollers 11 are locked at designated spaces to the transfer chain 10 to be freely rotated, and plural pallets 20 are disposed on the rollers 11. In this apparatus, in an area where a rail 30 comes into contact with the tip parts of conical rollers 11 of the transfer chain 10 moved at a constant speed, the rollers 11 are rotated at high speed. In an area where the rail 30 comes into contact with the root portions of the rollers 11, the rollers 11 are rotated at low speed. Accordingly, the movement of the pallets 20 placed on the rollers 11 is high speed at the middle part, and low speed near the boarding port. Thus, an accelerating moving walk can be obtained.
