The invention relates to a catheter puncturing device comprising a tubular housing having a longitudinal housing section which terminates in an extended section and from which a forked section branches off at an angle, the housing section and the forked section comprising a continuous lateral opening; a flexible casing which extends along the forked section and the housing section, which closes the lateral opening, and into which a catheter can be inserted; and a puncturing needle which protrudes out of the housing with its tip and extends along the longitudinal housing section and the extended section. After the puncture has been carried out, said puncturing needle can be retracted in the housing until it is behind the branching off point of the forked section, and the catheter can then be removed from the housing via the forked section and the housing section.
