PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crack detector for chicken eggs which can prevent contact marks due to a hammer rod which tends to generate on the shell surface of chicken eggs just after laying when detecting cracks on chicken eggs by applying oscillation to an object egg using a hammer rod. SOLUTION: A hammer part 1a of an oscillation means 1 is formed by an elastic body having a predetermined hardness. By changing in shape of the hammer part 1a when applying oscillation to a chicken egg E by the oscillation means 1, shock due to the oscillation of the egg E by the hammer part 1a is absorbed, and thereby generation of contact skars caused by the hammer part 1a can be prevented.
