PURPOSE: A device for saving a consumed current of a communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to stop an operation of a power amplifier module in a place where an electric field strength is strong, to reduce current consumption of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A duplexer(240) supports bidirectional communication. A mixer(210) mixes a transmission signal with a local oscillating signal, and up-converts a frequency. A driver amplifier(220) amplifies an output signal of the mixer(210). A power amplifier module(230) amplifies an output signal of the amplifier(220), and transmits the amplified signal to the duplexer(240). A power supplier(270) supplies an operational power to the module(230). An electric field strength measurer(260) measures an electric field strength by inputting a receiving signal passing through the duplexer(240). A controller(280) stops the operational power of the module(230) if the electric field strength is between -75dBm and -25dBm, and turns on a switch(250). |
