PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an operator to utilize an external storage device easily even if he/she has no special knowledge, realize the security, and improve the operability of the external storage device further. SOLUTION: A back-up program 106 and a restore program 107 are provided in a PC card and a FDD sheet to enable downloading and restoration by merely selecting by a switch in a program selection logical circuit 105. Moreover, an owner code of the external storage device is held in the external storage device and is compared and checked with a password of the operator when starting operation to certify the operator in order to protect a security. Consequently, not the full-time operator but an owner himself/herself of the external storage device can perform back-up operation and restore operation correctly and easily. |
