PROTECTIVE MATERIAL, LINING, EDGE COVER AND PACKING TAPE

A protective material (lining, edge cover or packing tape) composed of a laminate of metal mesh and sheet that even in the use of inexpensive sheet other than high-strength fiber sheet, realizes enhanced integrality of sheet and metal mesh to thereby inhibit stitch slippage of the metal mesh and attain required cutting resistance. There is provided sheetlike protective material (1) comprising sheetlike metal mesh (2) formed by knitting a metal fiber and flexible materials (3) having at least one major surface thereof furnished with sticky sheet (4) wherein the metal mesh (2) is interposed between the flexible materials (3) so that the sticky sheets (4) are in contact with both front and back sides of the metal mesh (2).
