A sealing bolt (10) for sealing a container lid (12) to a container body (14), the sealing bolt (10) comprising: a first ultrasonic identity element (32) for providing a first identification signal (c1); a second ultrasonic identity element (34) for providing a second identification signal (c2); and a third identity element for providing a third identification signal. The third identity element comprises the first and second ultrasonic identity elements (32, 34) and the third identification signal is formed by the intersection points (P) created by an overlap of the first and second identification signals (c1, c2). The invention also concerns a method for sealing a container lid (12) to a container body (14) using such a sealing bolt (10).
