PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a presser foot of a sewing machine capable of making a knife excellently cut the end edges of an upper fabric and a lower fabric evenly, and capable of effectively preventing defective sewing caused by the defective cutting. SOLUTION: An auxiliary guide member 6, overhanging into a guide pathway between a presser foot 13 and the other presser foot 12 in the front of a fixed knife 16 and a movable knife 17, is attached to the presser foot 13 for holding the upper fabric with a needle plate among two presser feet 12 and 13 extending from left and right sides of a needle falling position 11. The upper and lower fabrics, retained in the raised state under the restraint by the auxiliary guide member 6 and the presser foot 12, are fed to places where the fixed knife 16 and the movable knife 17 are disposed, and the upper end edges of the fabrics are cut evenly.
