PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator capable of manufacturing an electric double layer capacitor having a larger electrostatic capacitance, and an electric double layer capacitor having a large electrostatic capacitance.SOLUTION: A separator for an electric double layer capacitor of the present invention, is formed by a nonwoven fabric so that a drawn polyphenylene sulfide fiber is adhered by an unstretched polyphenylene sulfide fiber. In the electric double layer capacitor of the invention, the electric double layer separator for capacitor is used.SELECTED DRAWING: None
