PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine that reduces the friction thereof to a cylinder bore and prevents generation of scuff even when a lubrication film formed at a surface of a piston skirt part is worn.SOLUTION: In the piston for an internal combustion engine, multiple dimples 11 are formed at the surface of the piston skirt part 10 and the lubrication film 12 is formed by coating solid lubricant at the surface of the piston skirt part 10 formed with the dimples 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
