PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head which can be surely filled with liquid in a short period of time upon replacement of a liquid storage means without requiring a suction means of high suction force, and of which the cost can be reduced and which can be made compact, and to provide a liquid ejection apparatus.SOLUTION: A liquid ejection head includes: a head body for ejecting liquid from a nozzle opening; a flow passage member which has a liquid flow passage for supplying liquid to the head body, includes a filter chamber which is provided with a filter arranged therein and is disposed in the middle of a liquid flow passage and has a region made of an elastic member and opposite to the filter in the filter chamber; a chalk means for opening and closing the liquid flow passage on the upstream from the filter chamber; and a pressing means for pressing the elastic member toward the filter, wherein, after the chalk means closes the liquid flow passage, the pressing means presses the elastic member and, when the closure of the liquid flow passage by means of the chalk means is released, the pressing means releases the pressing of the elastic member. |
