PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten distribution time when distributing the same boot image file to a plurality of distribution destination servers.SOLUTION: A boot image distribution method comprises: a division step in which a distribution source server 1 divides a boot image file for which a distribution request is received into a plurality of parts; a first distribution step in which each of the plurality of parts is divided into chunks of a prescribed size and is parallelly distributed to at least one of distribution destination servers 2 as a redistribution part from the distribution source server 1; a second distribution step in which the distribution destination servers parallelly transmit/receive the redistribution parts distributed to each of the servers between them in the chunk unit; and a restoration step in which each of the distribution source servers 2 combines all the received redistribution parts to restore the original boot image file. The transmission/reception of a chunk in the second distribution step is parallelly performed with the parallel distribution of a chunk which is next to the chunk in the first distribution step. |
