PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict blockage of a connection passage due to solidification resulting from dehydration of liquid.SOLUTION: A control unit of a printer section performs: a suction process in which an ink sucking operation in which, during a period of time in which image recording on paper is not carried out by a recording head, a suction pump is driven in a blocking state to reduce pressure in an internal space, thereby ejecting ink from a discharge port to the internal space, and an ink ejection operation in which the suction pump is driven in a communicating spate after the ink sucking operation, thereby ejecting ink into a waste tank via a connection passage, are repeated in a predetermined cycle; and an ink ejection process in which, during a suction process in a periodic suction maintenance operation, ink ejection operation is carried out twice before the passage of a solidifying time required for ink to solidify from when the first suction process is finished.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 |
