PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device and projection device that can implement a projection with power consumption and brightness of projection light made appropriate.SOLUTION: A light source device comprises: an excitation light irradiation device that emits excitation light; a fluorescent wheel 101 that is composed of a plurality of fluorescence light emitting areas differentiating a formation condition of a phosphor emitting fluorescence light by reception of emission light from the excitation light irradiation device with being juxtaposed in a periphery direction; a position adjustment unit 110 that rotatedly drives the fluorescent wheel 101, and locates any of the plurality of fluorescence light emitting areas at an optical axis position of the excitation light at occurrence timing of the fluorescent light; a light source device that emits the excitation light, and wavelength band light different from the fluorescent light; and a light source control unit that controls the excitation light irradiation device and the light source device in a time-division way, controls the position adjustment unit, and determines an excitation light irradiation position to the fluorescent wheel in accordance with an environment condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
