The purpose of the present invention is to provide a display control device and a display control method with which it is possible to select useful information from the information obtained from a communication terminal and present the selected information to a user. A display control device according to the present invention can be connected for communication with a communication terminal, wherein the display control device is provided with: a communication interface unit for performing communication with the communication terminal; a data acquisition unit for acquiring data for generating internal content; an internal content generation unit for generating internal content on the basis of the data acquired by the data acquisition unit; a display data generation unit for generating display data to be displayed on a display device that can be connected to the display control device; and a control unit for controlling the communication interface unit so as to acquire, from the communication terminal, external content of a category that is the same as or pertains to that of the internal content, and controlling the display data generation unit so as to generate display data in which external content selected under a predetermined condition is integrated with the internal content. |
