The container (2) with a pneumatically operated discharge-piston (1), especially a tank wagon, incorporates an expansion-operating chamber (6) next to the piston. A pneumatic pipe containing pressurised contents leads from a pump-arrangement (14) to the operating-chamber the pressure of which is controllable. The pipe has pressure-excess valves (15) with a variable overflow threshold. The pressure is determined by the container's weight and is controlled in three to six stages, or is continuously regulated. ADVANTAGE - The discharge piston is prevented from coming out as a result of high accumulated energy causing over-high pushing force, by the pressure being controlled.
