A process for the production of aqueous liposome suspensions containing active ingredients from a solution of a substance (substance mixture) for forming liposomes, in a lower alcohol with at most 3 carbon atoms and an aqueous phase, an active ingredient or active ingredient mixture is dissolved or suspended in the lipid solution and/or the aqueous phase. The aqueous phase is added to the alcoholic solution with mixing, the lower alcohol is removed by vacuum distillation and the liposome suspension is optionally freeze-dried.
