METHOD OF MANUFACTURING COVERING CONSISTING OF FINE SOLID OVER HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE OF EXHAUST GAS CONVERTER AND METHOD OF PURIFYING EXHAUST GAS

PURPOSE: To provide a process for coating two honeycomb structures having incorporated already in a single exhaust gas converter with good quality and easy step as if coated separately before assembly. CONSTITUTION: First and second honeycomb structures are arranged with a gap in between. A coating dispersion is exhausted after having filled up to the gap from an inlet for the exhaust gas and the residual dispersion is removed by flowing a gas stream from an exhaust outlet. This process is repeated for the second honeycomb structure. Finally, the coating is fixed by drying or sintered in some cases.
