An apparatus for cleaning solar cell is provided to obtain the efficiency of photovoltaic power generation by automatically senses the contamination of the solar battery and the solar battery cleaning device. An apparatus for cleaning solar cell includes cleaning unit(20) for washing a solar cell unit(10) and a controller(30) for controlling the operation of the cleaning unit. The washing controller performs the washing of the solar cell unit by controlling the cleaning unit. The contamination sensor(32) senses the pollution level of the solar cell unit to control of the cleansing action according to the pollution level of the solar cell unit. The washing controller detects the pollution level of the solar cell unit and controls the operation of the cleaning unit according to the pollution level through the contamination sensor. The contamination sensor determines the contamination level by measuring the voltage or the current outputted from the solar cell unit.
