PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-molecular olefin copolymer having excellent physical properties, to provide a method for producing the copolymer and the use of the copolymer. SOLUTION: The subject polymer is a low-molecular olefin polymer having an oxygen-containing group, a nitrogen-containing group, a boron-containing group, a sulfur-containing group, a phosphorus-containing group, a silicon-containing group, a germanium-containing group, a halogen-containing group or a tin-containing group at one terminal. The amorphous low-molecular olefin polymer is produced by treating the vinyl or vinylidene group of a low-molecular ethylenic copolymer A having an unsaturated bond at one terminal with at least one kind of compound selected from epoxidizing agent, sulfonating agent, maleic anhydride, hydroborating agent, diisobutylaluminum hydride, silylation agent and halogenation agent, and the low-molecular ethylenic copolymer A is an amorphous polymer free from melting point and produced by polymerizing ethylene and a 3-10Cα-olefin.
