<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly set focus balance quantity and spherical aberration correction even when a defect of an optical disk is detected during test recording. <P>SOLUTION: An optical disk device has a defocus signal detecting circuit 8, a reproduced signal detecting circuit 12, a reproduced signal evaluating circuit 13, a defect detecting circuit 14, a control part 19, a focus balance adjusting circuit 17 and a spherical aberration correcting circuit 2. When detecting a defect, the control part 19 generates a first jitter curve by excluding a corresponding jitter value, generates a second jitter curve by interpolating a jitter value of an excluded part using one other than the jitter value of an excluded address, compares minimum focus balance quantity of the first and the second jitter curves. When its difference is one step or more, test recording is performed again, difference between minimum focus balance quantity of the first and the second jitter curves is made 0 step or less, and the focus balance quantity and the spherical aberration correction quantity used during normal recording are obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
