<p>Surfaces of various types of substrates, including glass, ceramics, and metals, are rendered stable to heat and corrosion by treatment with a silicon-containing polymer which may be an alkoxy silyl substituted polysilazane or an alkoxy silyl substituted polysiloxazane. Polymeric coatings of the compositions may be cured at room temperature to about 50° C. in an atmosphere containing moisture without requiring the introduction of a catalytic curing agent.</p> |
