<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking/unlocking controller for a vehicle door improved to determine a user's intention more accurately than a conventional controller when locking and unlocking the vehicle door. <P>SOLUTION: This locking/unlocking controller for the vehicle door is provided with a certifying means for certifying that a user is the regular user, a door outer handle 3 provided on an external face of the door, an unlock sensor 13 for determining user's intention for unlocking, and a lock sensor 14 for determining user's intention for locking to unlock the door on the condition that the regular user comes into contact with the unlock sensor. This locking/unlocking controller is also provided with a stroke sensor 15 for detecting that the door outer handle is operated to open the door.
