DETOXIFICATION METHOD OF SOLID CONTAINING ORGANOHALOGEN COMPOUND

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detoxification method of a solid containing an organohalogen compound by simple operation without sharply increasing volume accompanying treatment.

SOLUTION: The solid containing the organohalogen compound and a metal, which is at least partially dissolved in water and has reducing power by the movement of electrons, are subjected to mechanochemical treatment in the presence of water to dehalogenate the organohalogen compound. If necessary, after the solid containing the organohalogen compound is washed and dehydrated to be adjusted in moisture, the metal at least partially dissolved in water and having reducing power by the movement of electrons may be added to perform mechanochemical treatment.
