<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase flexibility in arrangement of a compound intake passage composed of short passages and long passages while inhibiting an air cleaner structure from being complicated and enlarged. <P>SOLUTION: A variable intake device 40 of an internal combustion engine E is provided with the compound intake passage Pc composed of the short passages 54 and the long passages 55, and a passage change over mechanism 61 changing passage length of the intake passage P by changing over flow of intake air passing through the air cleaner 41 between the short passage 54 and the long passage 55 according to an engine operation state. The short passage 54 is bent at an external part of the air cleaner 41, and the long passage 55 includes a spiral passage 55b surrounding the short passage 54 at an outer part of the air cleaner 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
