<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of improving the efficiency of using light radiated from a light source, while the amount of electromagnetic waves leaking to the outside from the light source is maintained so as to be equal to or smaller than a predetermined regulated value, and to provide a projection type display device equipped therewith. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 1 is equipped with an electrodeless discharge lamp 2 which emits light, by discharge by application of a high-frequency current, and a metal mask 4 made of aluminum, arranged adjacent to the light incident side of a PS converter 8 in order to prevent light from entering ineffective area on the PS converter 8, is arranged so as to cover over the opening part of a housing part 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
