PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spiral structure of a photonic structure. SOLUTION: A photonic structure, which has no translational symmetry and whose refractive index varies with periodicity of a circular coordinate-system which is specified by a length in the radial direction and an angle in the circumference direction, has heterointerfaces S1-S5 structures which are generated by changing circular coordinate centers C1-C5. In each of the interfaces S1-S5, rods 21 in the inner circumference are connected smoothly, so that the rods 21 can be arranged continuously in a spiral form at 360°. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
