<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoder for an LDPC code capable of efficiently performing a scaling without increasing operation load. <P>SOLUTION: The decoder 5 obtains decoded data Cn by applying the error-correction decoding of a decoding-system simplified SAM product decoding method to a coded data Xn composed of an LDPC code. The decoder 5 has a row processing section 12 which performs row-processing operation to the coded data Xn and a column processing section 14 which performs column-processing operation to the data obtained by the result of a row-processing operation.
