PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina slurry formed by dispersing alumina in an aqueous solvent, in which agglomeration of alumina is reduced and formation of a hard cake is also suppressed.SOLUTION: Provided are: [1] an aluminum slurry formed by dispersing alumina in a dispersion medium, in which the alumina has an average primary particle size of 0.1 μm or more and 1.0 μm or less, a content of the alumina in the slurry is 30 mass% or more and 70 mass% or less, a content of water in the dispersion medium is 50 mass% or more, and viscosity of the slurry at 25°C is 10 mPa s or more and 3000 mPa s or less, and pH of the slurry is 6 or more and 8 or less; and [2] a method for producing the alumina slurry according to the above [1], comprising the steps in the following order of: (1) obtaining a mixture 1 having an aluminum content of 30 mass% or more and 70 mass% or less by mixing alumina having an average primary particle size of 0.1 μm or more and 1.0 μm or less and a dispersion medium having a water content of 50 mass% or more; (2) obtaining a mixture 2 by subjecting the mixture 1 obtained in the step (1) to an acidic treatment and, thereafter, adjusting the pH to 6 or more and 8 or less; and(3) obtaining an alumina slurry by subjecting the mixture 2 obtained in the step (2) to a dispersion treatment.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
