A liquid crystal display device is provided to expand a pixel electrode up to a gate line area of a neighboring pixel area, thereby removing light leakage occurring in a border area between the neighboring pixel area and a pixel area. A gate line(G1) and a data line(D1) define a pixel area(P) by crossing each other. A switching element is disposed in a crossed area between the gate line and the data line. A pixel electrode(10) and a common electrode(12) are arranged by turns at a certain intervals in the pixel area. The pixel electrode has an expanding unit expanded up to a front gate wiring area that defines a pixel area in an area adjacent to the pixel area, as being crossly arranged with the data line that defines the pixel area.
