Gasket and electrolyser

Provided are a gasket and electrolyser with which it is possible to prevent electrolyte and/or gas from leaking from a membrane. A gasket (13) is formed in a ring shape, comprising a first surface (13a) which is in contact with the frame on the positive electrode side, and a second surface (13b) which is contact with the frame on the negative electrode side. The gasket (13) is also provided around the entire periphery thereof with a slit part (14) which opens to the inside, and which houses the edge part of an ion-permeable membrane (17).
