PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of making the reduction of a back curl occurring due to fixation and the stabilization of conveyance compatible and capable of reducing a damage toward a recording paper toner image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an auxiliary nip part formed between a fixing device and a branch member by a drive roller and a follower roller; a guide member for guiding a recording paper in the downstream; and guide member movement means for moving the guide member to a first position and a second position. In a first position of the guide member, an intersection angle θ1 of the recording paper conveyance direction in the auxiliary nip part and the direction connecting the point at which the recording paper is separated from the auxiliary nip part to the downstream side is 20° or more and 50° or less, and a distance L from the center position of the auxiliary nip part to the guide member toward the recording paper conveyance direction in the auxiliary nip part is 15 mm or less, and an intersection angle θ of the recording paper conveyance direction in the auxiliary nip part and the guide direction of the guide member is 120°or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 13 |
