A method for converting solar radiation in mechanical power for generating electrical power, having an extraordinarily high efficiency, comprising the steps of seeding a hot fluid heated by a solar device to a hot cylinder of a Stirling engine and seeding a cold fluid, cooled in the absorption stage of an absorption refrigeration apparatus to a cold cylinder of the Stirling engine, obtaining mechanical power from the Stirling engine for actuating an electrical generator.
