An image evaluation method and apparatus are provided to be applied to be adopted to recognize objects in various environments as a driver assistance system or a monitor system loaded on vehicles. In an image evaluation method, at least a part of an object is expressed and image data expressing an image is searched(21). Distance information about the distance of the object is searched for the image plane of the image(22). Based on a reference distance(dref) predetermined with the distance information, re-sampling image data is produced by re-sampling at least a part of the image data(24).
