PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical and inexpensive positioning system that performs accurate positional measurement by using radio waves in two different bands and using change in radio wave strength in control such as the positional control of an autonomous mobile robot and the automatic driving control of an automobile.SOLUTION: A positioning system comprises: one or more LF transmitters 12A-12D for emitting a radio waves in two bands (LF and UHF) to obtain radio wave strength (RSSI value) necessary for position detection; a movable control object (such as a mobile robot 11) comprising at least one LF receiver 17 for receiving the radio waves in the two bands; and a control computer 13 for communicating with the LF transmitters or the control object by using a radio wave in a band for high-speed communication (UHF) and finds the position of the control object on the basis of the obtained radio wave strength.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
