摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of shift shock even if the pressure regulating level of an automatic transmission is high relatively by setting an air fuel ratio so that output characteristic of an internal combustion engine is lower than maximum output characteristic. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle 4 is provided with an internal combustion engine 1 which is enabled to change an air fuel ratio so as to set a plurality of output characteristics. And also, it is provided with an automatic transmission 3 which set the pressure regulating level of oil pressure for supplying to an abrasion engaging device 2 according to the maximum output characteristic of the internal combustion engine 1. In this case, a shift step which is set by the automatic transmission 3 is detected by a shift step detecting means 5. When the detected shift step is a maximum speed step, it is allowed by an air fuel ratio adjusting means 6 to set the air fuel ratio, so that the output characteristic of the internal combustion engine 1 is reduced in a lower level than that of a maximum output characteristic. It is thus possible to prevent deterioration of shift shock even if the pressure regulating level is high relatively.
