The device provides vibration damping for an IC engine crankshaft. It has a hub fixed to the crankshaft formed from sheet section, and an inertia ring connected to the hub via an elastomeric sheath. The hub (1) has its outer region formed as C-section, and has a wedge or multi-V belt carrier (10) at its axial outer edge. The C-shaped section of the hub spans an axially extending projection (3) on the radially aligned inertia ring (2). The space between a projection axially on the inertia ring and the hub C-section is filled at least partly with an elastomeric sheath. USE/ADVANTAGE - Damping of axial bending vibration arising at crankshaft, belt drive independent of inertia ring vibration.
