PURPOSE: To produce a sialon ceramic capable of keeping a high-temperature strength, free from the loss of fracture toughness and, at the same time, having a complicated shape. CONSTITUTION: The sialon ceramic is produced by adding a sintering additive to a sialon powder, mixing the mixture to obtain a slurry and sintering a forming obtained from the slurry. The slurry is mixed and pulverized to increase the specific surface from 9-11m<2> /g of the raw material to before it is formed that or 12-14m<2> /g. The sintering is performed by sintering at 1700-1800 deg.C under normal pressure and subsequently subjecting the product to HIP at a temperature lower than that of the normal-pressure sintering by 0-100 deg.C. |
