Temperature sensor for pipework of heating, ventilating, air-conditioning system

Temperature sensor (1) suitable for attachment to the pipework of e.g. heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems has a sensor element (3) and its cable (4) encapsulated (11) using thermally conducting resin (10) in a moulded plastic housing (2) having a flat undersurface (5), the flexible side ribs (6) and pliant bowed top (7). The assembly is conveniently attached to pipework (14) using a cable clip (9) which locates in a groove (8) in the bowed top (7) and is dimensioned to flex the ribs (6) outwards to ensure correct alignment along the pipe (14) with the surface (5) in good contact due to pressure from the top (7). A transverse hole (13) receives a peg (12) to lock in the cable (4) and provide stress-relief.
