Flexible stop buffer for lid on body of motor vehicle

The buffer comprises a fitting piece moulded from elastomer material, a base part (2) to fit on the vehicle body (5) and a buffer part (3) connected to the base part to guide and support a lid edge (6) of the closed lid. The base part is formed with a button part (7) on the vehicle body side, which has an undercut to button the buffer into a body recess. An angular support section (14) of metal plate is formed in the fitting piece and is made of stiff material with one leg or tongue (15) extending into the base section and one leg or tongue (16) extending into the buffer section. A third angled leg or tongue (17) may extend into the button. The buffer is prismatically formed with an elongated centre opening, and is more or less in the shape of a right angled triangle. One side of the triangle forms the base part, one side forms a support wall (8)and the hypotenuse forms a buffer wall (9).
