A method for preparing a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell, a membrane electrode assembly prepared by the method, and a fuel cell containing the membrane electrode assembly are provided to improve the adhesion between a membrane and an electrode for reducing the interface contact resistance between a membrane and a catalyst layer, thereby enhancing the performance of a fuel cell. A method for preparing a membrane electrode assembly comprises the steps of dissolving a sulfonated copolymer represented by the formula 1 having an IEC of 0.1-3.0 mequiv./g and insoluble in water, methanol and a mixture of water and methanol, in a heated organic solvent to prepare a coating solution; coating the obtained coating solution on the catalyst layer formed on an electrode support to prepare a reduction electrode and an oxidation electrode; and interposing a hydrocarbon-based polymer electrolyte membrane between the coated reduction electrode and the coated oxidation electrode and thermally compressing them, wherein G is X; G' is Z; 0<b/a<1; 0<d/c<1; 1<=m<100; and 1<=n<100. |
