A metal housing, useful in particular for a telecommunication installation, has a housing part with at least one opening delimited by the side walls of the housing part and closable by a cover that can be set on the housing part to shield it against incoming and outgoing electromagnetic radiation. In order to improve such a metal housing so that the cover may be secured to the housing part without costly snap-locking or engagement means, rivets or screws, the cover is designed as a flat part with clamping tabs which project perpendicularly to one side of the flat part, at the edge of the flat part. Recesses for receiving the clamping tabs are shaped in the inner wall of the housing part, perpendicularly to its opening. Their width is slightly smaller than the distance between opposite edges of a clamping tab, so that when the cover is set on the housing part, the clamping tabs can be forced into the recesses and retained therein under tension.
|
