PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable usage of escalators as a fire escape, and to guide the refugees safely to the fire escape even when the fire breaks out on the floor. SOLUTION: A fire escape 26 is constituted along escalators by sectioning with escalator firewalls 20 over floors connected by escalators 16 and 18 and the landing- and surrounding areas. Each floor 14 is divided into a plurality of sections, with the fire escape 26 in the center, and comprises the escalator firewalls 20 and the firewalls 28 radially extended from the firewalls 20, to form a plurality of anti-fire sections 30 surrounding fire escape 26. Close to escalator landings 16A and 18A in the escalator firewalls 20, with which each anti-fire sections come into contact, are provided fire doors 22 to allow access to the escape 26.
