PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire having improved durability when a steel monofilament is used as a reinforcing cord, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the pneumatic radial tire 1 and its manufacturing method, the steel monofilament 8 of which surface is coated with a plated layer for improving adhesion with rubber is used as a reinforcing layer. By thinly narrowing a cut part 8a of the steel monofilament 8, a cross section area 8b of a cut terminal of the cut part 8a is made smaller than that of a non-narrowed part.
